Gigi Hadid hits back at claims that she is disguising her baby bump – Mirror Online

Gigi Hadid has hit back at claims she is deliberately “disguising” her baby bump amid calls for her to show it off.

The 25-year-old supermodel called out the view that she had been hiding her baby bump away with a number of fashion choices that would keep it out of view.

British Vogue had previously suggested that Gigi had spoken about her bump during an Instagram Live with fans, answering one query about not having a “tummy.”

The model, who is pregnant with former One Direction star Zayn Malik’s baby, said: “This angle and the really baggy jumpsuit make for an optical illusion. From the side it’s a different story!”

Gigi has now hit back saying that she was not trying to mislead her fans and that there was not “disguise” going on, as had been claimed.

Taking to Twitter, Gigi wrote: “Disguise… I said in a baggy jumpsuit the front and side views are visually different stories – not that that was intentional or I was trying to hide anything. Will be proud and happy to share ‘insight’ when I feel like it, thanks.”

She added: “For now I am proudly experiencing and sharing this time with my family and loved ones.”

Gigi confirmed the exciting baby news in in April during a virtual appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show but she has not revealed whether it is a boy or a girl that she is expecting.

She said at the time: “Obviously, we wished we could have announced it on our own terms but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.

“Especially during this time… it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.”

Gigi had dropped a hint earlier in the year about becoming a mother, as she said that she wouldn’t be modelling her whole life and wanted to start a family.

She told i-D magazine : “I think that as I get older… well one day I’ll start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modeling.

“I love the creative side of fashion, it’s so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I’m so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I’ll take up full time cooking!”
